How CoreSphere Makes a Habit of Giving Back

Giving back to the community is on our agenda year-round. With locally focused efforts made around the world, it’s important to give back throughout the year — a belief that CoreSphere values deeply. We took part in two charitable walks, had online fundraisers, and spread holiday joy in Nepal. Holidays like Thanksgiving, #GivingTuesday, and Christmas puts everyone in the giving spirit, but we try to give all year-round. Here are all the ways CoreSphere has given back to the community in 2019.

May Food Drive

We began the year off with a food drive for the Capital Area Food Bank. The CAFB contributes to those in the DMV going hungry. They also supply support systems and education services about Nutrition, Food Waste, Advocacy, and Technology in the fight against hunger in the USA. The CoreSphere executive team pledged to match employee donations; for every dollar that employees gave, CoreSphere matched fifty cents. We raised $900 to the cause!

We Walk, so they can Fly

In September, we kicked off the holiday season with the Luke's Wings' Heroes Walk to Fly charity event! Luke's Wings’ mission is to provide complimentary airfare to wounded, ill, and injured service members and their loved ones during recovery and rehabilitation. Our team raised enough money for an airfare ticket, which allows a family member to see their beloved hero during treatment and recovery!

Computers for a Cause

Young girls from the Small Home for Our Daughters orphanage using donated CoreSphere laptops.

We connected with Keith Federman, liaison, to send laptops to orphanages in Nepal in August. These laptops offer children a connection to online educational opportunities, needed computer literacy, and a window into a larger world. Check out their thank you video, here. Connect with Keith to see how you can support our education initiative.

SODA Fund - Community Supporter

The SODA Fund stands for Survivors of Domestic Abuse. The nonprofit helps victims of domestic abuse and violence safely escape and begin their new lives. CoreSphere donated laptops and monitors to these victims for a fresh start. We invite you to take a look at The SODA Fund's programs that are currently being featured on the Google Today Platform Protecting Young Adults Now, Provide a Warm Coat, Provide Counsel to a Victim of Abuse, Don't Let Them Stand Alone in Court, and Provide a Safe Space to Heal Together.

We Put the Heart in Heart Walk

On Saturday, November 2, our CoreSphere team participated in the American Heart Association - Greater Washington Region Heart Walk in #DC for heart disease prevention. A small, but mighty team, we contributed to efforts in heart disease research and prevention with the steps we took.

Many CoreSphere team members go above and beyond — spending and lending their talent and time in various ways, both in-person and online. It's our corporate duty to do good and give back, that's why we dedicate our time and efforts to those in need and will continue our efforts into the new year.
